Hooray for Toothpicks
I was at the beach with my sisters. The water was really blue like we were somewhere tropical. I walked down the shore for a while looking for a spot for us. The beach was divided up into sections by little cement walls for individual groups. I picked one out, but then my sisters called to me to come to the one they had found. It was a very nice spot, and I was glad I was with them because they obviously knew what they were doing. There was also a little cement wall between the shoreline and the ocean, and the water came right up to it and was very deep. I asked them if it was deep enough to jump in and they said it was, so I did and started swimming. As I was swimming my body felt very heavy and I was having trouble breathing. I started to get really fatigued and turned around to get out of the water. I decided I was dehydrated.
Me, my sisters, and my dad were trying to go to Saturn Cafe. We walked inside and they said they were closed until two in the afternoon on saturdays... this made me sad. I asked if I could have a toothpick to get out the food in my teeth. The guy thought for a minute and told me no. I pointed out that there was a giant basket of them right behind his head. He still said no, and that really pissed me off because I felt like he was just being an ass hole and there was no reason he shouldn't give me a toothpick. He had already had one in his mouth the whole time, so he offered to take me to the bathroom and he would use his toothpick to get the food out of my teeth. I told him that was wierd and discusting and it would make more sense for him to just give me one. He still refused, so we left the restuarant. As we were leaving I thought that it sucked I was fighting with all the employees because now I could never get a job there.
Me, my dad, and my sisters walked to Mimi's Cafe and went there instead. As we were being led to our table, Mattie stopped in the middle of the staircase and started singing. Everyone at the tables around her could hear her, and her singing wasn't bad or anything, but it did upset me that she was being at attention whore and people didn't mind that. I ushered her up the stairs. The waitress sat us at our table and we were the only people on the floor. Mattie ordered two deserts, and when they got to her table she mixed them together. At first I thought it was gross that she was getting two deserts, but her mixing idea worked very well. I left our table and sat at the one next to it, which was by the window. Just as I did that, the waitress brought up another customer from downstairs and told her to pick a table. The lady picked the exact spot I was sitting in. I thought that was rather rude of her since she could have had anyone and picking this one would displace me. But I moved for her.
