Buzzer Beaters
I believe i was on some sort of camping trip with my parents. We had our camper again, and i think we were somewhere in New Mexico. I got the impression i was hanging out with people from Raton, but i didn't know any of them from the last time i was there. There was one girl that was hot, but i didn't really get to talk to her. The guys were telling me how their school (which they called El Camino [Real]) was only 2 years of High School, and then they started taking college classes. One of them, i discovered was a big Duke (College Basketball) fan, which i thought was cool, because it's pretty rare to find one of those. Most people specifically hate Duke. Once i found that out, i decided to give him a hard time by saying "Yeah, too bad they suck since Battier left" (Last time they won a championship was Shane Battier's senior year). Mostly, i just said this to see how he'd react, and i hoped to spark a conversation out of it, but he said nothing, so that was a bust. That's all i remember except something about all of our food being covered in lighter fluid. I think my mom put lighter fluid on all of our food because it was supposed to help preserve it better in our crappy fridge. Of course, when she told me that, i just wanted to throw it in the fire to see what would happen (i believe we were talking around a fire pit).
I dreamed that i made TWO buzzer-beaters in basketball. It wasn't like a sanctioned game or anything, but it was more like a school setting. That actually made it even cooler for me at the time because there was no countdown to the buzzer. I just had a feeling that time was running out, so i heaved it from half-court, and the buzzer went off just as it went through the net. I think the buzzer was like...an end of class thing, but we kept playing anyway...or maybe it was another time, i don't know. Anyway, i got the same sense of urgency again, but this time i counted down "3...2...1...," shot a leaning 3-pointer, and once again, it went in just as the buzzer went off. I basically just fell on the floor in extacy because it was the greatest thing ever. One of the guys i was playing with noticed that i had made the countdown right before the buzzer went off, and he realized how amazing that was, so that made it even cooler for me.
Of course, now that i know it was MY dream, of COURSE the buzzers went off when i thought they were going to (lucid without knowing it?), so that kinda takes the charm out of it, but it was definitely the coolest thing ever at the time.
